It is usually admitted to hospitalization 24 hours after your surgery for better analgesic control and keep a close monitoring of drainages, therefore you are recommended to have your suitcase ready with clothes and personal items along with a companion to assist you.

Only you will be granted discharge until you are in a stable condition and with a favorable recovery, your discharge will be given the following:

​

 

1. Detailed instructions of your care in your home

2. Recipe with oral medications for your needs.

3. Contact number for any questions.
    

Immediate postoperative

You will find a bandage over your surgical area which will be constantly monitored by the nursing staff, it is normal to have mild to moderate pain which is controlled with medication. The antithrombotic protection measures are continued.

Prior to your discharge, bandage and dressing removal, healing and dressing of gauze will be performed and a postoperative girdle will be placed for your safety and comfort.

• 1st week after the first postoperative appointment is made, sutures will be removed if they are present, you will continue with areas of ecchymosis or bruising, moderate pain at least controlled with analgesics without problems, the removal of drainage is assessed. You may be very limited to perform work and gym activities.

• 2nd week, usually in better general conditions, edema and inflammation have yielded substantially, labor reincorporation is valued if they are light activities as an office, they still abstain from the gym and great efforts.

• 3rd and 4th week with a satisfactory recovery for daily domestic activities and light gym without big efforts. The bruises almost absent in their entirety. The scars usually begin to be lost within the same natural lines and folds, these are permanent but in most cases these fade and improve over time.

• 6 months with complete resolution of the inflammation and edema and with the final results almost apparent although if you continue with an appropriate lifestyle accompanied by diet and exercise the improvement is even more evident.
