This procedure can be considered quite safe but still carries risks that should be taken into account by you, if the benefits and benefits overcome these risks you must accept them and sign a consent form that you understand completely and decide to proceed with the procedure.

The most common risks and complications of breast reduction are:

  • Hemorrhage

  • Infection

  • Seroma or fluid accumulation

  • Asymmetry

  • Necrosis or loss of skin including areola and nipple

  • Decreased bust, areola and nipple sensitivity

  • Unfavorable healing

  • Allergy or reaction not favorable to suture material, medications

  • Limitation or inability to breastfeed depending on the technique used

  • Deep vein thrombosis, thromboembolism and cardiac arrest
